What Looks Like Crazy

Kate Holly is a clinical psychologist trained to deal with any one's problems.  Too bad she can't turn that psychological training on herself...she really needs it.  What does she have on the list?

Father issues: her father was a fireman and died in a terrible fire.  So, naturally, she marries a fireman, Jay, and decides to divorce him when she learns he nearly died while on the job and she can't stand to lose him like she did her father.

Mother issues: ever since she was a little girl, Kate remembers being dragged along with her mother (and her aunt, her mother's twin) to rummage through junk.  She's made a living for herself, now, and "decorated" Kate's place with any number of things, including a possibly pornographic statue in her front yard.

Relationship issues: she's divorcing her hunk of a husband, but the first time Jay and Kate see each other after the accident, she can't help but fall into bed with him.  And then there's also the ex-boyfriend.  Thad is a psychiatrist who often refers his patients to Kate if they need talking therapy.  But any time Kate needs help?  Thad makes her describe her panties to him...and she does.

The list goes on.

Told in the first person, Kate's faults and inner monologue help make What Looks Like Crazy and amusing read.  There is a bit of danger and mystery thrown in as well when Kate begins to receive threatening phone calls from someone who is clearly a nut-job.  Which, you know, helps narrow down the list of people who know her who could be the culprit.

Charlotte Hughes writes a fast-paced and entertaining story that is bound to ensnare readers looking for a light read with a fun plot and characters.
